The upper area was the site of the original home that burned down decades ago. It is the largest cleared section, and there is quite a bit more clearing that could be done for better sun (southern) exposure and more space. If we were staying, we would clear quite a bit more. Currently there is a 2-room primitive cabin with a small attached sunroom/greenhouse and a large tool/wood shed (covered but not fully enclosed). A firepit and sitting area are set up on the edge of the forest at one end of the cleared area. There are numerous raised beds, raspberry bushes, and newly planted pear trees. From here there is easy access to the surrounding forest.
